OUR MISSION
Benchmark Theatre Company is a nonprofit theater dedicated to producing high-quality, thought-provoking, and inclusive theater in the broadly classical vein. This includes significant works of drama from the global tradition, including early modern plays, later 20th century plays that have been recognized for their quality and timelessness, and new adaptations of classic works not originally written for the stage.
Benchmark Theatre Company seeks to produce high quality theatre that represents the communities we serve in Washtenaw County and southeast Michigan. We are dedicated to the proposition that theatre should be accessible for everyone, and that all artists—both on stage and off—should be compensated for their work.
